The Widget Production Game – An Experiential Management Learning Technique From Industrial History

This technique is a game that was developed as part of a Management History undergraduate programme. It was developed to work for undergraduate programmes in management or organisational behaviour in Engineering and Business Schools. It assists in the teaching of production, organisation and management. The game draws from the questions of management which formed the roots of management education in the UK, specifically, organising for production and the division of labour. Attendees will experience a successful experiential learning technique which could improve the appreciation of management theory of their undergraduates who are often without experience of managing or management.
