Mapping Direct and Indirect Assessment For Better Program and Learning Outcomes

This workshop explores the integration of direct and indirect assessment methods in business education. Targeted at management and business educators, the session highlights how indirect assessments (e.g. students’ perceptions of learning) can complement direct measures (e.g. actually demonstrated learning) and improve curriculum and teaching. It includes a research presentation, Q&A session, group discussion, and an interactive mapping activity where participants document their current assessment and plan future strategies. Participants will gain insights into the application and value of indirect assessments, a practical understanding of how to integrate diverse assessment methods and strategies to enhance their teaching practice and program development.
