Keeping It Simple: Role Playing and Conversational Style In Sustainability and Human Resource Management Assessment Design

Creating an authentic learning environment that effectively integrates the principles and values of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while fostering critical thinking and analytical skills for solving organizational problems presents significant pedagogical challenges. Our activity will first showcase a scaffolded SDG online learning module followed by an experiential assessment that employs a real-time conversational style to assess students’ critical thinking, problem-solving skills and disciplinary knowledge of the SDGs in human resource management (HRM) context. Whilst our activity was implemented in a postgraduate HRM first year course, the pedagogical design is versatile and can be adapted to any management courses.
