Abstract: This Bus Rescue challenge submission introduces a highly effective experiential exercise aimed at uncovering diverse perspectives on knowledge and assumptions within a learning environment while seeding student reflections on why they might think like they do and how it impacts their involvement in team decision-making. It empowers students to bring their authentic selves into the classroom. This fosters a safer space for them to belong. The exercise cultivates solid social connections and prompts reflection on the influences shaping individual identities. It builds tolerance and empathy and highlights the power of diverse knowledge in decision-making processes. Additionally, the submission provides a comprehensive overview of the exercise's theoretical foundation and teaching implications, aligning with a dynamic learning model. The exercise's strategic placement within the course ensures maximum impact, leaving a lasting impression on students. It is a valuable tool for building self-awareness, teamwork skills, and a holistic understanding of various contexts, ultimately enhancing the learning experience.
