Abstract: In the past year, if you required students to write a paper, it is likely that some students used an artificial intelligence (AI) program. AI generated papers may have looked fine on a plagiarism check, been coherent, and addressed the assigned topic. But there may have been some anomalies that caught your attention. In this interactive workshop, facilitators and participants will share student writing examples as the basis for analyzing what might be indicators of AI, discuss options for providing grading and other student feedback, and consider alternatives for assignment descriptions with respect to generative AI tools.
