Abstract: This session demonstrates two active learning activities for transitioning students into a second-year undergraduate international management course. Transitioning students into specific courses is an overlooked area of tertiary education; however, the first face-to-face contact times (whether online or in a physical classroom) should be purposefully considered to engage students in ongoing active learning, and to assist in providing a foundation to the course content and assessments. The first activity is a mapping exercise designed for students to understand their place in the world. The second activity is designed for students to appreciate CMC knowledge and skills of self and others.
