Cultural Process In A Nutshell: A Simulation For Cross-Cultural Competence (adapted Bafa' Bafa')

This experiential activity offers students a hands-on introduction to navigating unfamiliar cultural environments and adapting to the communication norms of other cultures. Modeled after BaFa' BaFa', the simulation places individuals in contrasting cultural groups with distinct norms and behaviors. Students learn the norms of their designated culture and interact with people from other cultures. This dual focus fosters empathy and insight into the challenges of cross-cultural communication as they navigate both familiar and unfamiliar cultural settings. This activity is designed to develop cultural competence, fostering adaptability and intercultural sensitivity crucial for success in management and organizational settings.
