Navigating Challenges In Building A Sustainable Garment Business Employing Women From Refugee and Migrant Backgrounds

Brooke Watson, a woman entrepreneur created ‘Sanaz’, a sustainable garments business offering much-needed employment opportunities for women from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Through strategic initiatives aligned with the company’s vision, Brooke expanded Sanaz’s workshop into a retail store and an online retailer. However, the business faced several challenges and financial struggles, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic. Through grit, determination and resilience in the face of economic downturns and financial pressures, Sanaz survived. Yet, due to personal circumstances, Brooke considered exiting the business. Will Sanaz continue to grow and survive, despite her initial decision to close the company?
