Team Formation In An International Business Capstone Project

It is well understood that effective teamwork requires a diverse range of individual-level competencies, including task-specific knowledge, skills, and attitudes (Cannon-Bowers, Tannenbaum, Salas, & Volpe, 1995; Cannon-Bowers & Salas, 1997). However, there is limited information on how to guide student team formation within management capstone courses to recognize and act on such needs. My proposal includes experiential exercises designed to highlight the critical importance of team competencies and to help students form teams that comprise the competencies that enhance effectiveness and guiding them toward successfully accomplishing their objectives in international business capstone team project.
