Chatgpt As An Agency For Learning: Transforming Students Participation and Critical Thinking

Classroom participation is a crucial element of university courses in higher education, as it fosters active student engagement and facilitates the achievement of key learning goals, including knowledge application, effective communication, and critical thinking via oral involvement. Students often have a deficiency in self-confidence during class discussions, which significantly affects their involvement and learning outcomes. Students' engagement substantially impacts their academic performance and grades, thereby affecting their ability to attain learning goals. This paper aims to shift the focus from seeing students as passive participants to empowering them in their learning via new technologies like ChatGPT. Students are to use ChatGPT as a pedagogical tool to participate in conversations, critiques, debates, and developing ideas on the subject matter. This article offers guidelines for exercise and a reflection framework to enhance conceptual understanding in discussions and participation.
