Team Building In Large Cohorts With Smartstage, In-Room Tutors, Games & Mini-Tasks

Abstract: This session presents an approach to embedding structured team-building in a large-scale postgraduate business simulation at Warwick Business School. In Business in Practice, over 600 students work in teams to manage virtual automotive firms transitioning to electric vehicles. To foster collaboration, a 90-minute workshop integrates playful mini-tasks and reflection, supported by extended reality technology and in-room tutors across 70–80 teams. Grounded in experiential learning and team effectiveness theory, the session offers MOBTS participants a condensed online version of these activities. Attendees will experience, reflect on, and adapt strategies for strengthening teamwork, creativity, and reflective practice in their own teaching.
