Scavenging Across Campus – The Elusive Hunt For Engagement Activities That Build Teams and Extend International Business/management Knowledge While Remaining Mindful of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (dei) To Ensure All Can Genuinely Participate?
In this roundtable, we will explore a scavenger hunt activity designed for a large, complex 200-level classroom that uses non-digital gamification to foster engagement while examining its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) dimensions. This teaching innovation has been prototyped, is currently being piloted, and is scheduled for release in March 2026. The design process has surfaced important questions about the practical management and oversight of such learning innovations from both student and instructional perspectives, particularly regarding DEI considerations. This provocation invites discussion on how to develop non-digital gamification for large classrooms, ensuring team-based activities are inclusive, reflective, and promote positive learning experiences for young adults.
