Ally With Ai Icebreaker For Online Or Hybrid Organizational Behavior Cohorts

Modern organizational behavior classrooms that are increasing in size, diversity, and complexity are shifting to hybrid and online learning environments, which challenge the use of traditional icebreaker activities with affective personal influence. This paper presents a 15-minute icebreaker designed to address these issues while integrating the principles of Kolb’s experiential learning theory. By leveraging generative AI, this learning activity fosters social connection and peer support networks within a diverse group of students. It addresses the specific limitations of hybrid and online settings while also serving as a teaching tool for exploring technology and creativity as a prelude exercise to the individual-level analysis of the organizational behavior framework. A detailed step-by-step procedure for implementing the exercise is provided, along with a discussion of its pedagogical advantages. It also examines how the exercise aligns with the evolving landscape of management outlook, ultimately aiming to foster a more engaging and effective learning experience.
