Case Study Presentation On Rampmycity

Case Study Presentation on RampMyCity • Abstract This session aims to explore the teaching case RampMyCity: Making India Accessible, co-authored and published with Ivey Publishing. The case focuses on social entrepreneur Prateek Khandelwal, who turned his personal journey of becoming paralysed into a mission-driven enterprise that promotes accessibility and inclusion for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in India. As a case to be discussed in a management class, it invites students to examine how social entrepreneurs design and sustain business models that combine purpose with profitability and how they navigate the challenges of scaling their operations to become sustainable businesses. • Method: This field-based case was developed through an in-depth interview with the protagonist and extensive secondary research on the enterprise’s operations, strategy, and growth challenges. The firsthand data provided deep insights into the founder’s motivations, decision-making processes, and the organisation’s model of inclusive innovation. The case development process also involved aligning pedagogical intent with business realities, ensuring that the dilemmas and discussion questions engage students in multidimensional analysis. The teaching plan was designed for both physical and virtual classrooms, emphasising flexibility in delivery and interactivity in learning. • Findings: What you learned in developing this case study (1 paragraph minimum) As a team of authors, we learned that establishing a clear link between the business model and its pedagogical application is essential for effective case development. It is equally important to identify the relevant subject domains such as Operations, social entrepreneurship and Responsible Management, to enhance clarity in classroom presentation and discussion. For example, from the operations perspective this case falls under how it is important to plan based on capacity available if the resources. How social entrepreneurships always have limited of these resources and how they have to consider the trade-offs while taking business decisions. From an entrepreneurship angle, we could highlight the different characteristics of different type of organizations and how they have different motivations of development and how their employees need to be trained and developed in a particular manner. Overall, the process reinforced that thoughtful alignment between business realities and learning objectives significantly enriches the case’s educational value. • Classroom Execution: The proposed execution could be both for an online session or an offline session. The proposed execution is to divide the class into groups and let each group discuss one discussion question in detail first and then subsequently share their details with the larger group and the summary of all groups are discussed and highlighted. • Session Discussion and Objectives: The aim of performing this case study is to encourage the discussion of Diversity Equity and Inclusion for PWDs in organizations on one hand. Furthermore, it is also to highlight that there are so many such organizations which are doing work for the marginalized groups , RampMyCity is one such organization. This is an important discussion to bring in front of management students, where they need to become responsible managers in the future, where they should consider all aspects while they take up their business decisions. • In which learning environment do you utilize this study (physical and/or virtual)? (1-2 sentences) This case has both the online teaching plan and the offline face-face teaching plan. It can be adapted in any learning environment. • Will you be conducting this case study with your attendees in this session?
