What makes the MOBTS conference unique?
MOBTS is one of the most unique conferences you will come across. While some management conferences out there provide a pre-conference experiential workshop for a few hours, or an experiential track during a more generic conference program, MOBTS offers a full program of experiential learning, discussion, and philosophizing. We receive up to 200 submissions each year geared toward our experiential learning focus making our conference program jam packed with engaging offerings.
Culturally speaking, our conference breaks down barriers of all sorts.
- What institution you are faculty at is not important. What is important is what you desire to get out of our conference and what you can contribute towards it.
- Your clothing is not important. MOBTS attendees often where t-shirts, shorts, and comfortable shoes. Jackets, ties, blazers, etc. are not only not required, but highly discouraged. Come comfortable, come relaxed, and come ready to learn.
- 70% of our conference attendees reside in campus dorms during the conference. Beyond it being extremely economical, our culture also finds it important that we recall what it was like to be a student – just like the students you are teaching – by putting yourself in their shoes for a few nights. Thus the experiential exercises don’t end with our sessions, but technically continue all through while you sleep in regard to your environment.
There are so many more nuances to our conference. About one month prior to our conference we disseminate a guide called the “Pre-Arrival Handbook.” This lays out many of these details so regardless of being a veteran or a newcomer, you will arrive feeling knowledgeable of what to expect.
