CALL FOR IDEAS,

DESIGNS, and INNOVATIONS

MOBTz-Fall 2020

The Mid-Atlantic Organizational Behavior Fall Zoom Teaching Conference

“Beyond the Classroom and Zoom: Possibilities”

Venue- Zoom

Saturday, October 17, 2020 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  More on the Theme…

Virtual classes present the classic combination of risk and opportunity. Teaching in Zoom or other media has the possibility of new class designs and a new partnership of students and faculty.

MOBTz wants to learn what we don’t know and find things beyond our experience. We are interested in teaching innovations that make full use of digital media, interesting assignments, and new ways of learning.

Zoom and similar platforms can be just high-tech versions of the traditional classroom. Moving beyond that, have you figured out ways to change this narrative? Have you developed new or revised activities that provoke learning in new ways? If so, share your best ideas and experiences with others.

The core value of MOBTC is hands-on learning so we want to try out your teaching design in the conference. Presenters will get feedback and ideas for process improvement as well as suggestions for publishing your teaching innovation.

MOBTz Fall 20 encourages you to present your no-limit ideas for new forms of engagement across all our teaching platforms. Send a 1-page proposal for MOBTz Fall 20 to: meisel at lasalle.edu<mailto:meisel at lasalle.edu> Proposals are welcome at any time but are due by Saturday, October 3, 2020.

If you would like feedback or suggestions for developing a proposal, contact anyone on our Program Committee. Guidelines for Submissions of Proposals:

Your 1-page proposal (2-3 pages) should state 1) what you will do, 2) how you will do it, 3) how much time you will need.

The hallmark of MOBTz is “hands-on” learning. Presentations should be a demonstration for class userather than a description of what was done. Please plan for the active involvement of session participants. Proposals should be original or an innovative redesign of existing work. MOBTz is a peer-refereed conference so proposals should not be under concurrent consideration or scheduled for presentation elsewhere.
