Campus as Case Study: Teaching Organizational Culture Using Students’ Lived Experiences
Keywords: Organizational Behavior, Teaching, Culture
Abstract: This session will focus on ways in which the histories of our respective institutions can be used to teach students about management concepts, particularly organizational culture. By making connections between past and present, students develop their abilities to recognize cultural transmission in action and their individual and collective roles in that process. Attendees will discover how tapping into campus history can engage students in the process of learning about management concepts and will leave with strategies for incorporating it into their current teaching practices.
