Using Problem Based Learning and Case Studies to Teach Organisational Behaviour

Abstract: Using an in-depth case study of an aviation accident, this session will teach attendees about how problem-based learning, using case studies to teach the concepts of situational awareness, complex systems, and communication, in a 3rd and 4th year organisational behaviour class. Through outlining the approach, and the methods used, attendees will have the opportunity to apply these concepts to a real-world setting and to consider the implications for their own classrooms. The session is suitable for other educators trying to either deploy problem-based learning in combination with case-based approaches in their classrooms.
