Self-Nominations are Acceptable
The nominations deadline is January 6, 2025.
The nominations deadline is Friday, January 6, 2025.
Please be aware that per MOBTS bylaws nominees must be current members of MOBTS to be eligible for ballot consideration. If the nominee is not a member, the nominee must proceed to MOBTS.org to purchase a one-year membership.
If nominating an MOBTS member (other than yourself in a self-nomination), you must have the consent of the prospective nominee prior to submitting this application. Nominations without prior consent will be discarded.
Expectations of Board Members
Board members are expected to be physically present for the June pre-conference meeting and the annual Fall Business Meeting (typically toward the end of October), as well as present and engaged in any virtual meetings, email, and text-based discussions conducted in between. MOBTS provides funding to the annual Fall Board Meeting. MOBTS assumes institutional support for attendance to the meeting at the annual conference.
A nomination does not guarantee a place on the ballot. The Nominations & Elections Committee will determine the final slate for the ballot.
There are currently two positions for nomination, both at-large seats:
At-Large: A Director At-Large position will be charged with and volunteer for tasks, initiatives, and committees as they arise. In addition, a Director may request consideration to shift to a specific responsibility (ex. Preconference Chair) as it becomes available.
A member of the Nominations & Elections Committee will follow up with nominees. A nomination does not guarantee a place on the ballot as MOBTS board positions are highly sought after resulting in an abundance of nominations. Long-term presence in the Society is not a prerequisite to be on the ballot, so we encourage junior, mid-career, and senior faculty alike to be nominated!
Please contact Executive Director Brandon Charpied with any questions.
