The President-Elect’s term operates in two distinct parts. The first part of the term as President-Elect will begin with the conclusion of MOBTS 2018 at Coastal Carolina University and will run through the conclusion of MOBTS 2019. Following MOBTS 2019, the President-Elect will assume the role of President which will run from the conclusion of MOBTS 2019 through the conclusion of MOBTS 2022.
While in the role of President-Elect, the individual occupies the fifth seat on the MOBTS Executive Committee and remains on the Executive Committee through the conclusion of the term as President.
It is the responsibility of the President to appoint the organization’s OB1 (the keeper and ambassador of the organizational culture), to attend, lead, and facilitate all board meetings, to sit on the Executive Committee, to conduct site visits with the Executive Operations Director during the process of selecting future conference hosts, to provide leadership to the organization, amongst numerous other tasks and responsibilities.
The At-Large Director’s term will begin with the conclusion of MOBTS 2018 at Coastal Carolina University and will run through the conclusion of MOBTS 2021 (site to be determined). The At-Large role enters the board undefined, but may ultimately oversee any number of tasks and/or committees as preexisting board members’ terms expire.
It is expected that the At-Large Director attend Board of Director meetings prior to the June annual conference, as well as the annual Fall Board Meeting (typically the third week of October) at a site determined to be most efficient and cost effective for the entirety of the Board and organization as a whole.
