Pre-Register for Info Session | Learn More About the CLC

Join us on Friday, October 25 at 12pm Eastern to learn more about the Collegiate Leadership Competition (CLC), a leadership-focused experiential event for collegiate students. In alignment with MOBTS’s mission to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the management disciplines, the MOBTS CLC will provide MOBTS members (and beyond) the opportunity to bring experiential learning of leadership directly to their students. Join us for this informative session so you can learn more about the CLC from MOBTS CLC Chair Lisa Kuron and MOBTS Executive Director Brandon Charpied.

EASIER ACCESS FOR TEAMS! In an effort to reduce barriers to entry, the MOBTS CLC is shifting back to the regional model it began as. This means that our goal is to bring a competition closer to your campus to lessen the financial burden on your teams! Further, with the goal of introducing more teams to our MOBTS community, we have drastically lowered the cost per team (with a sliding scale for the number of teams attending) for 2025 so you can get a taste of the MOBTS CLC experience without significant budget concerns. You can learn more about pricing at CollegiateLeader.org.

The CLC is currently slated to provide at least six (6) experiential leadership competition opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students alike from around the USA and Canada. These current offerings are:

  • Central Canada Regional @ Wilfrid Laurier University (Brantford, Ontario, Canada)
  • Northeast Regional @ University of Southern Maine (Portland, Oregon)
  • Southeast Regional @ Berry College (Rome, Georgia)
  • Southwest Regional @ Southwest Oklahoma State University (Weatherford, Oklahoma)
  • Virtual Competition (x2) in mid-April to allow for differing holidays and university calendars

We would still love to have hosts on USA’s upper Midwest, west coast, and potentially the mid-Atlantic region. If interested, view our page about Hosting a CLC. It requires little more than a couple of spaces on a Saturday typically in March!

Founded in 2015, Collegiate Leadership Competition (CLC) provides collegians passionate about leadership with a practice field. Students actively apply their learning via our global leadership competition. We make leadership a tangible, high-impact learning experience for future leaders. We believe that leadership can be learned. With practice, our participants develop knowledge, build skills, and learn with other like-minded teammates who are passionate about leadership. CLC’s curriculum explores the attributes of effective leaders, leadership/followership styles, creative problem-solving, influencing others, navigating difficult conversations, conflict resolution, ethical decision-making, stressors, and effective teaming. Colleges and universities identify a coach and recruit teams of six students. Any student interested in practicing leadership is welcome. Throughout the experience, each team member leads one challenge and receives extensive feedback based on their performance.
