The Management and Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (MOBTS) is excited to announce the launch of an Early Educator Institute (EEI) for the MOBTS Oceania Conference in 2026!

We are pleased to announce MOBTS is sponsoring 10 EEI scholarships for the MOBTS Oceania conference. These scholarships will provide full pre-conference and general conference registration. Scholarship recipients must attend the pre-conference activities in the EEI and the general conference in its entirety.

The EEI institute will be held on February 4, 2026, prior to the MOBTS Oceania Conference to be held February 4 – 6, 2026 with an opening reception on the 4th and the general conference programming taking place on the 5th and 6th.

Targeted at junior faculty members (in years 1-5 in academia), the EEI is designed by leading business educators in the Australia and New Zealand region for providing developmental support to those seeking to establish their career.

Participants will engage in a one-day program featuring modules on tactics for handling classroom challenges, experientialising your teaching syllabus, tenure and promotion pathways, and improving your teaching practice.

Goals of the EEI include:

  • Providing opportunities to increase self-awareness around teaching preferences, learning styles, and how to frame a teaching experience for students
  • Exploring a wide variety of approaches to pedagogy, demystify some of the approaches to pedagogy, and recognize that not every pedagogical approach works for everyone
  • Start to develop your pedagogical identity by asking you to consider: What do you want your students to learn? Who are your learners? What learning experience should you provide that meets their needs?
  • And much more!

A scholarship application requires a CV to be uploaded (preferably in PDF format), as well as a statement of teaching philosophy. Please have your statement of teaching philosophy ready for submission prior to accessing the scholarship application. If you do not have a teaching philosophy, please refer to:
