Nominations for MOBTS Board of Directors
Nominations Now Open! Deadline is December 23rd.

SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATION
Self-Nominations are Acceptable

The nominations deadline is December 30, 2022.

Please be aware that nominees MUST be current members of MOBTS to be eligible for ballot consideration. If the nominee is not a member, the nominee must proceed to MOBTS.org to purchase a one-year membership.

If nominating an MOBTS member (other than yourself in a self-nomination), you must have the consent of the prospective nominee to submit this application.

Board members are expected to be physically present for the June pre-conference meeting and the Fall meeting (three-day meeting covered by the organization typically occurring in October), as well as be present and engaged in any virtual meetings and email discussions conducted in between.

A nomination does not guarantee a place on the ballot. The Nominations & Elections Committee will determine the final slate for the ballot.

We currently have three positions we are seeking nominations for:

  • Doctoral Institute Chair – This individual will lead the annual Doctoral Institute pre-conference workshop, coordinate the DI panel and facilitators, and work with the pre-conference awards committee in selecting viable DI scholarship award candidates.
  • Early Educator Institute Chair – This individual will lead the annual Early Educator Institute (junior faculty in years 1-5 of career) pre-conference workshop, coordinate the EEI panel and facilitators, and work with the pre-conference awards committee in selecting viable EEI scholarship award candidates.
  • At-Large – A Director At-Large position will be charged with and volunteer for tasks, initiatives, and committees as they arise. In addition, such a Director may request consideration to shift to a specific responsibility as it becomes available.

The Nominations & Elections committee will follow up with nominees. A nomination does not guarantee a place on the ballot as MOBTS board positions are highly sought after resulting in an abundance of nominations. Long-term presence in the Society is not a prerequisite to be on the ballot, so we encourage junior, mid-career, and senior faculty alike to be nominated! Those on the ballot will be reached out to for additional information prior to the ballot going live. The ballot is anticipated to open by mid-January.

Please contact Executive Director Brandon Charpied with any questions you may have regarding the board expectations, requirements, process, etc.
