The MOBTS Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointment of Melanie Robinson as Co-EIC of the Journal of Management Education. Melanie’s appointment to the Board is effective immediately and she will fulfill the remainder of the previously vacant Co-EIC term until July 1, 2024.
President Kevin Lo welcomes Melanie to our Board of Directors with the following statement:
On behalf of the MOBTS Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Melanie Robinson (HEC Montreal) as Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Management Education (JME). Melanie will serve in this capacity alongside Jennifer Leigh (Nazareth College). Melanie brings a deep background in scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) to this new role. She has published in both in the society journals (Journal of Management Education and Management Teaching Review). Prior to the current Co-EIC appointment, she was a member of the JME editorial board and an associate editor. With the upcoming 50th anniversary of MOBTS, we look forward to Melanie’s energy, expertise, and vision for the journal.
Melanie, an associate professor at HEC Montreal in Montreal, Canada, was reviewed and endorsed to the Board by our JME EIC search committee which was chaired by John Stark alongside Cindi Fukami and Sarah Wright. The search committee was enthusiastically supportive of Melanie, stating that she has a strength in research methodologies, was exceptionally professional with a tremendous attitude toward the role she’d be taking on beside current Co-EIC Jennifer Leigh, and had great support from her institution, which added:
HEC Montréal highly values that its researchers play an active role in various research-related organizations, with a special focus on editorial positions and committees at scientific journals. Given Professor Robinson’s extensive experience in management education research, primary based in experiential learning and instructional innovations, we consider that her addition to JME’s editorial board will bring a strong experience for evaluating articles, regardless of the methodological approach used by authors.
